Fantastic job by our LINK Crew. They were able to raise $3,003 for the Dance Marathon. They will contribute this to the HS Dance Marathon total which will be revealed this weekend. All the money helps support children dealing with cancer at the Iowa Children's Hospital in Iowa City. We are beyond proud of these kids! ... See MoreSee Less

Hope you had a nice spring break! We have around fifty days left of school and we want to focus on students being here everyday from now until the end of the year. Why is attendance so important?

--Chronic absence is defined as missing 10 percent or more of the school year, which is two or more days a month. This involves total absences, excused and unexcused. Children who miss 10 percent or more in their first years of school (k-3) are associated with lower academic performance.

--Learning doesn’t happen when you are not in school. It is easy to not realize how much school is missed when it is a couple days at at time, but it adds up quickly.

--Not only are the first years critical for academic success but also social skills; learning how to work with others, build leadership skills, and develop your voice.

Starting today we will be tracking daily attendance by classroom, and incentivizing those classrooms with the highest attendance for the week. Educating your child is our number one goal, and having them here at school gives us a chance to give all students a strong foundation. Please help us accomplish our goal by making sure your child comes to school every day until the end of the year. We want your child here and appreciate your help and support!
